Edward B. Dunlap Jr.

Edward B. Dunlap Jr.

Every month, several dozen people gather in the Dunlap Conference Center at St. Clair Hospital. They are women and men with cancer, survivors of cancer, persons caring for loved ones with cancer, as well as physicians and nurses who treat cancer patients. They are there to participate in a wellness program that offers the gentle healing of restorative yoga. The classes are among the numerous Hospital and community events that take place at St. Clair's beautiful state-of-the-art conference facility that is named to recognize Edward B. Dunlap Jr., founder, chairman and chief executive officer of CentiMark Corporation, a national roofing and flooring company based in Pittsburgh.

Entrepreneur, philanthropist, humanitarian and a grateful St. Clair patient himself, Ed is an exemplar of community spirit whose extraordinary generosity and commitment to St. Clair has enabled the Hospital to make significant improvements and expansions in facilities and services. With his wife Anna, Ed has provided donations to renovate and improve the Family Birth Center, expand the Emergency Department, upgrade Endoscopy Services and support the Patient Assistance Fund. A long-time resident of the South Hills, Ed says it is his privilege to help St. Clair Hospital. "Anna and I are proud to provide support to the Hospital. My family and I use the doctors and facilities at St. Clair. We are pleased with the care, the compassion and the professionalism. The type of non-profit organization that we like to support is one that is professionally run, fiscally responsible and dedicated to serving the community. That's St. Clair Hospital."

The Hospital is a tremendous resource for the entire community, Ed says. "Providing health care is essential for the health and well-being of the families in the region; it's a critical part of the community throughout the lifespan, from babies, to senior citizens who rely on a stable, familiar environment. What I find most impressive about St. Clair is that the Hospital continues to function independently by enhancing its services and recruiting new doctors and other health care professionals, and still maintaining the caring and compassion of a neighborhood hospital. St. Clair provides a tremendous advantage, with easy access, a convenient location, top-notch doctors and staff, and comprehensive services."

Through their generosity to St. Clair Hospital, donors make a strong statement of unwavering faith in the Hospital. They embrace the Hospital's mission and serve as catalysts for advancement and transformation, fortifying it for a vibrant future. St. Clair has honored Ed Dunlap, an extraordinary benefactor, for his compassionate commitment to this community by putting his name on the Fourth Floor conference facility and appointing him an honorary member of the St. Clair Hospital Foundation Board of Directors. "When I see how the Dunlap Conference Center serves as a community resource for physician conferences, board meetings, wellness programs and leadership meetings, it makes me proud that the Dunlap name is one of those community resources," Ed says.
